Here all (especially any visitors you have or know of) are encouraged to fill in a beach survey and win a holiday for your efforts! This will enable us to find and highlight both complaints and compliments and act on them swiftly to ensure that our area is kept in tip top condition.


RAMSGATE BOOK & ART FESTIVAL 2019

The Ramsgate Book & Art Festival is growing in leaps and bounds.
A passionate and hardworking team are already gathering with fresh ideas, themes and wonderful community ideas for 2019.
Anyone wanting to get involved with helping, organizing and sponsoring of this event is welcome to contact Stephen Goodhead. This is a community driven festival and we would love as many people on board as possible.

A Transkei Ramble of note!

Father and Daughter team Jacques and Jessica Van Der Hoven (from Rocky Ridge) are passionate about the beauty of the Transkei.
They are organizing an incredible Wild Coast Hiking Trail of approximately 68 kilometers. Scenic, wild and extraordinary – a must on your bucket list!

The hike will include the following – and variations thereof:
Day 1: Port St Johns – Umgazana, 15km
Day 2: Umgazana – Hluleka, 25km
Day 3: Hluleka – Mdumbi, 18km
Day 4: Mdumbi- Coffee Bay, 10km

Pssst! Father Christmas is coming to Ramsgate!

SAVE THE DATE for your littilies!
Word has it that Father Christmas himself will be arriving in a fiery red fire engine on Sunday mid-morning on the 23rd of December in Ramsgate. He will be travelling from Nathalie’s Shell Shop through the middle of Ramsgate Village, right through to Chefs on Marine. He and his entourage will  then turn around and come back up to the southern parking area at the Tidal pool in Ramsgate. There will be face painting as we wait for his arrival and he promises to come laden with little gifts for all little people. All are welcome and of course there is no charge!


Rocky Ridge Live Music Venue is going to Rock

There will be no shortage of live music this Christmas Season – Rocky Ridge has once again pulled out all the stops and have an unbelievable line-up of live music over this upcoming festive season!

Music from local bands, as well as visiting bands from all over our country are booked to delight and entertain at this quirky music bar and events venue. Rocky Ridge is set in a magical environment with yummy food and drinks available.
Situated just 2km up Fascadale road in Ramsgate – follow the signs.

New Eco Tourism Office gives thanks!

Our new Eco-Tourism Info centre in Ramsgate is looking jolly handsome – not only on the outside but thanks to some locals – on the inside too.
A call was put out for specific and essential office equipment and we are delighted to announce that the Office now has just about everything!
Pop in to say hi and take in this incredible new space. The Office is situated right next door to the BP Garage on the main road.

A hearty thanks to the following individuals & local businesses who have made this possible:

  • The Lobster Pot Gavin & Linda Forbes for donating a perfectly sized fridge.
  • Fairhills Caravan ParkStephen Goodhead for donating and installing a large Safe and toilet rolls holders.
